7 Year Old
Most sleep studies find that children as young as 7 years old require between 9 and 12 hours of sleep, which puts them under the broad category of early elementary students.
However, since you are the one who knows your child best, you should probably get them additional sleep if they are consistently exhausted in the afternoons or extremely irritable when they return home from school.
If your child isn't sleeping through the typical 7-year-old bedtime of 8 p.m., consider moving it up to 7:30 p.m. or even 7 p.m.
attempt putting your child to bed 15 minutes earlier than usual for a week to see if their behavior changes. This is a gradual way to attempt earlier timings.
Try starting their bedtime another fifteen minutes earlier if they are still experiencing midday slumps. For certain kids this age, the entire 12-hour sleep cycle is necessary.
