Your Baby's Development at 6 Weeks

There is a large dilation where the heart should be and a hump at the head end of the neural tube when your kid is between 6 and 7 weeks old in your womb. The brain and head will eventually grow out of this hump. The baby has a tail and a curled body, giving it the appearance of a little tadpole. On a specialized scan known as a vaginal ultrasound, the heart may occasionally even be seen beating.
